Railay Beach is a small de facto island - crossing from one side is just a 10 minutes walk. Rai Lei or Railee Beach can be divided into 4 parts:
West Railay - the western Sunset Beach is where you will find the only 'nice' beach front resorts all of them offering high quality accommodations. West Railay gets noisy in the day when the loud longtail boats fire up. West Railay evenings are blissfully quiet. West Railay Resorts
East Railay - the eastern Sunrise Beach is the least attractive beach of Railay. It is used as the service port of Railay, from Krabi Town and Ao Nam Mao. At low tide, the water recedes out 300 meters. Passengers have to wade in and out with their luggage in the mud. The expensive resorts have mobile piers pulled by farm tractors. East Railay Resorts
Phra Nang Bay Beach - Phranang Beach is controled by Rayavadee Resort which occupies all of the land behind the beach. Because of this you must walk a neat little pathway located along the cliffs at the end of East Railay.
Ton Sai Beach - although many would consider Ton Sai Beach separate from Railay Beach they are only separated by just one cliff wall jetty. Ton Sai has a very rocky beach but is a mecca for Rock Climbers. Ton Sai offers the best value who want to stay in the Railay area and has enough unique climbing routes to keep climber occupied for weeks! Ton Sai Beach Resorts
